L’attenzione ai diversamente abili

ATAP services for the disabled

Updated, 19.06.2013

ATAP are particularly sensitive to the mobility needs of disabled passengers.
We promote the mobility of those who are not able to move independently due to physical or mental handicaps, and thanks to close cooperation between various associations,
they have initiated projects to aid the removal of barriers that can limit this mobility.

To confirm this commitment to promote a policy of sustainable mobility accessible to all, the large majority of buses purchased in recent years are equipped with wheelchair lifts. Today 59% of the fleet are equipped with these facilities.

It is possible to request wheelchair facilities for all of our transport services without incurring an extra cost.
For our coach hiring services, a request may be made when making a booking, for our daily transport routes, you can call the freephone number 800.912.716 48 hours in advance stating the time and route for which the service is required.

ATAP have worked with the Italian Association for the Blind and have introduced a stop request button, the form and position of which are standard to make public transport easier to use by the visually impaired.
There are also vocal stop notices installed on some of our buses on urban and rural routes. Some buses also have acoustic route guides on the exterior of the buses.

All disabled persons with relevant medical cards may travel free. This initiative is sponsored by the Piedmont region and these cards are distributed by provincial authorities.
Guide dogs may also travel for free.
These efforts are testament to ATAP’s sensitivity to the needs of the disabled and to their commitment to help them travel without restrictions.
